Subway, Luc Besson, 1 986

As I spoke of him in the last text, here is Gros Bill, in 2
minutes
(in English, not the original version) of the fantastic movie
Subway by Luc Besson, his second movie after Le Dernier Combat, not so
famous for the new generations who know more Le 5 Elément, Nikita, Le
Grand Bleu
, etc.

Subway revealed Christophe Lambert. For the ones
who want to keep on seeing him as a bad actor, I recommend you the
viewing of this fantastically poetic movie with great music of Eric
Serra. And the actors…so many remarkable ones, starting (after
Lambert) by the so sexy (without obviousness for many people)
Jean-Hughes Anglade on his rollers, Isabelle Adjani, historically
feminine ‘n provocative, Richard Bohringer, etc.

Basile Pesso, Freeland, 17 juillet 2 018, 1st broadcast then (Fb)

I’m concerned with the rise of ultra-nationalistic right wing thinking here in the United States of America, and I donate each month to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate and extremist groups. I post these images from Resnais’ powerful film as an exhortation to do what you can to help stamp out white supremacist and ultra-nationalist ideologies before we find ourselves reliving the cultural atrocities of the past.(I’ll be posting more from this film; feel free to filter using the trigger warnings in the tags (tw:genocide; tw:war))
